Privacy

This page covers this website, orevos.com: what it collects when you visit or contact us through it, why, where it is kept and for how long. Bookings are handled through our booking site, under its own privacy policy.

Who is responsible

Jason Park, the owner of Orevos, is responsible for how this site handles personal information and is the person to ask about it. To reach him, call or text (604) 767-9880 or write to privacy@orevos.com.

What the site collects

The site sets no cookies for advertising or analytics and runs no trackers that follow you between sites. It keeps up to four small notes in your browser: two that last only for the visit, so the opening animation and the home page’s opening film play their introduction once; one for the day or night look you chose; and, on the photo day checklist, the steps you have ticked. None of them identifies you or leaves your browser.

Like every website, it is served through hosting and network providers that record standard server logs: IP address, browser, the pages requested and when. To stop abuse, the site also keeps the IP address behind failed sign-in attempts and form submissions for up to 24 hours.

To know how many people visit and which pages they read, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not identify you: it counts page views and records the page, how fast it loaded, the referring site, browser, device type and country, in totals.

If you write to an orevos.com email address, or send a message through the contact form on this site, we receive what you send. The form asks for your name, an email address or phone number, the property address if you choose to give it, and your message; the site keeps a copy in its database and emails it to our inbox.

If you sign up for the newsletter, we keep your email address, the date, the page you signed up on and the wording you agreed to, so we can show what you consented to.

Why

To run the site, keep it secure and stop abuse, and to reply to messages. We do not sell personal information, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing, and we will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be added. If you do sign up for the newsletter, we use your address only to send it: new work, services and studio news from Orevos. Every email has a link to unsubscribe, which takes effect at once; you can also call or text (604) 767-9880 or write to privacy@orevos.com.

Who handles it for us, and where

Railway hosts this site and its database in the western United States. Cloudflare runs the network in front of the site, stores the site’s photographs and films, counts visits, and forwards email sent to orevos.com addresses. Resend sends the contact form’s messages to that address. Google provides the inbox those emails arrive in. Each is used only for that job.

This information is therefore stored or processed outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country under its laws.

Properties shown on this site

Projects on this site are shown by street and neighbourhood rather than full address. If you own or live in a property shown here and would like it taken down, or something in a picture blurred, such as a face or a family photograph, tell us and we will do it.

How long it is kept

IP addresses of failed sign-ins and form submissions: 24 hours. Server logs: for the limited time each provider keeps them. Messages sent to us through the site or to an orevos.com address: as long as needed to answer them, and no longer than two years after our last contact. Newsletter sign-ups: while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe we keep your address marked as unsubscribed, with the record of your consent, so that you are never emailed by mistake; ask us and we will delete it.

How it is protected

The site is served only over encrypted connections. Its editor and database can be reached only by the owner, with a password and a one-time code, and its backups are kept in private storage. If a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you as soon as we can and report it to the privacy regulators as the law requires.

Seeing, correcting or withdrawing

Under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and Canada’s PIPEDA you may ask what personal information we hold about you from this site, how it has been used and who it has been given to, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our keeping it. To ask, call or text (604) 767-9880 or write to privacy@orevos.com. We answer within 30 business days and do not charge for it. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.

Complaints

Please tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The terms for using this site are on the Terms page.
